Red Lobster

Red Lobster

This weekend my mom and I went out to lunch at the very delicious Red Lobster. Red Lobster has over 350 restaurants located all over the United States and luckily one of those 350 was right near my town.

I have been there several times before and as usual the service is always friendly. We were seated right by the bar which wasn't to loud. Immediately they brought us a basket of their famous cheese garlic rolls. The servers will bring you a big basket and they are by far the most addicting/ amazing rolls you will ever put in your mouth. They will continue to bring you rolls till you leave then they send some home with you. ( see picture on the right for rolls.)

I branched away from my usual Salmon and ordered the Tilapia which came with a salad and two sides. They have options of sides from baked potatoes to green beans to rice pilaf. You don't only have to order one item though if you are unsure about what you want to get you can always order a " You Choose Two" kind of dinner which just includes a list of entrees and you can pick two for a set price. They also have a " You Pick Three" for different kinds of shrimp if you're a shrimp lover. If you're going for the whole 9 yards they have a deal where you can pick an appetizer  a salad, an entree and a desert for under 20 dollars. Basically, Red Lobster has some deals.

Red Lobster is a great family/ date restaurant. It is decorated authentically as if you're on a boat but they added more of a classy twist. I will definitely be returning back to Red Lobster and i recommend you all do to.

Café Melissa

Every Sunday my mom and I go out to get brunch! Trying to branch away from the typical Ihop and Perkins we decided to try something new and check out the new restaurant Café Melissa in Avon lake right off of walker. It was a very cute cafe and certainly could be something that would attract people to the deserted tops parking lot.
The service was extremely friendly! The interior was decorated with light colors and felt very homey! It definitely felt like a brunch kind of café as you can see in the picture. I ordered French toast with a side of bacon. A creative twist to the breakfast was instead of hash browns like the usual breakfast would come with, my meal came with cooked potatoes with a sauce on it! It was very good my entire meal was thoroughly pleasing. I've only been for brunch but they do also serve lunch dinner and have a variety of pastries to choose from. I've only heard positive things about the food. Café Melissa only uses the freshest ingredients they can find, and local, seasonal, and organic ingredients if at all possible.

The restaurant is owned by Matt Ullom, owner of the award winning Sweet Melissa in Rocky River. Both of his restaurants are named after his wife Melissa. They met while working in the same deli which they eventually turned into Sweet Melissa. The whole background of the uprising of his restaurants really makes you feel like he cares about this restaurant. Definitely check it out, the food is great!

Salad Kraze

I found myself craving a nice crunchy salad last night! The only place I could think of that specialized in salads was Avon Lakes very own Salad Kraze located right off of Avon Beldon Rd.

The initial feel of the eatery was very nonchalant and casual! Its a smaller place with a couple of tables inside, not a lot of room to sit but that was the best part about it. The restaurant seemed to be more of a delivery/ pick up service not a dine in restaurant. It was a much better choice for fast food then going to Burger King or having some pizza delivered.
Not only could you have the option of eating in, picking up or having it delivered but you could make your own salad. On the side wall you had the option of a small or large size portion. I chose a small which was still a large portion for a small. Next you chose what type of lettuce or noodles you wanted, then you chose your toppings. The small salad came with three! They had a pretty wide variety of toppings to choose from beginning with meat and ending with berries! Next you chose your dressing which also was quite the list! I really appreciated their options.
Having such a large list of toppings to choose from made it very hard to decide. Finally, I created a salad with romaine lettuce, avocado, salmon, feta cheese with balsamic vinegar and let me just say it was very good! Much better then a hamburger and fries at some fast food place! It wasn't that much more expensive either, my whole salad came out to a little under $7.
They don't just have salads but their menu also includes salads, soups, raps, smoothies and many other healthy alternatives! I would recommend this restaurant for people of any age!
