Brio Tuscan Grille

(Grilled Salmon Salad)

We now live in a world where your appearance and body structure is of the up most importance. But unfortunately in a world where people enjoy going out its hard to find a filling meal that's good tasting and good for you. More people everyday are concerned about there weight and about the food they put into there bodies. Which means fitness and nutrition is in and McDonald's is out!
Brio Tuscan Grille is a great Italian food restaurant with so many different options to choose from. Unfortunately a lot of the menu is pasta which is high in calories and carbs. I looked for a low calorie meal and found the " grilled salmon salad" ( picture above) . Basically its a huge plate of different types of chopped greens and mescun mix covered in sliced tomato's, crumbled feta, crispy potatoes for garnish and lastly a 4 ounce salmon fillet. A perfect combination with a light dressing of balsamic vinegar. The salad was huge and left me extremely full with a low count of 294 calories!

The interior of the restaurant is absolutely gorgeous. Its a low lit restaurant with seating outside and of course inside with a nice bar in the front of the restaurant. They decorated with very unique chandeliers and drapery. It is definitely a nice restaurant to go to with family if you would like to have a nice meal. Its also a great date restaurant.

We cant always eat perfect all the time so of course I couldn't pass up the offer on dessert. Unlike most restaurants where they have a list of desserts on the menu, Brio has a fake example tray of desserts that they bring to you so you can see what looks best. I ordered the "Vanilla Bean Crème Brûlée" which was amazing. It was a custard with a nice crunchy top and a strawberry on top with powdered sugar.

I highly reccomend Brio Tuscan Grille. The service was great aswell the food!

Mark Pis China Gate

Maybe you're wondering who the Chinese lady is in the picture above. Well, that's Tanya, she owns the Mark Pis China Gate located in Avon Lake in the landings right off walker. Its more of an upscale Chinese food restaurant. The staff is very...authentic and Tanya herself may even be your waitress( Not necessarily recommending that you have her as your waitress, their food is very good but speaking from personal experience Tanya is kind of a bitch).

I ordered the vegetable fried rice and needless to say it was really good! I know its kind of plain but their fried rice is the best fried rice i have ever had. Secondly, i don't know if they put something in their soy sauce but its literally unbelievable. You almost have to put it on everything you eat because its so good. Aside from me, many people are attracted to Mark pis due to their sushi bar. If you're having a craving for fried rice and you also can withstand sassy comments from Chinese folk then i would highly recommend you treat yourself to Mark Pis China Gate.

Maybe you're just looking for a nice restaurant to dine at, Mark Pis just redid their entire restaurant! They decorated with authentic Chinese decorations. From flying dragons to a harp they've got it all. Including these lights that kind of look like bacon
(which is fine because who doesn't love bacon)!

All in all i think everyone should have the experience of Mark Pis. The foods great and its certainly entertaining!

Noodle Cat

This weekend I found myself in the Tower city area and was starving. A couple of my friends suggested we eat at noodle cat which was relatively close by. The over all experience I had there was over priced and bland. One word to describe it all would be overpribland. This is why:

Walking in, the lighting was very dim. I couldn't help but feel this eatery should be featured in the TV show Portlandia. I expected an Asian atmosphere but not a single staff member was oriental. My waiter had a very strange beard and a pony tail, he could easily be described as a " hipster". Though the service was very friendly!

I didn't know what to order so I asked the waiter and he suggested the college ramen. I love ramen noodles so this seemed to be a good fit.  My friend and I both initially ordered it along with buns. When they brought our noodles to us I became very excited to see the large bowl of food. The portion sizes were very big! But the the buns were small. Which is unfortunate because the buns were the best part about the meal. I was extremely unsatisfied with my noodles. How can you mess up ramen noodles you ask? Well, the broth was very watery, it had little to no flavor which didn't help the noodles at all because that's where the noodles get all its flavor. I felt like I was eating nothing and I wasn't even full after I finished. But, the buns were really very good!

Annoyed about my meal, I asked for the check. When it came I grew even more angry. It was so overpriced, for a bowl of noodles and a side of buns my total was around 20 dollars. I wouldn't recommend eating at noodle cat. Maybe if I knew what I was ordering my experience would have been different but from my personal opinion I wont be going back.
