Melt Bar and Grilled

Melt Bar and Grilled
Melt Bar and Grilled is a modern, laid back bar serving far from the ordinary bar food. They opened the bar with one goal "  To provide gourmet grilled cheese sandwiches and as many beers as possible in a cool and comfortable environment". They certainly exceeded at their goal, not only opening up 3 more " Melt Bar and Grilleds" but having the Melt name in the mouths of everyone, positively.
The main reason most people remember Melt is because of their huge, unique, grilled cheese sandwiches. They took the regular grilled cheese and went above and beyond the expected of most grilled cheese fanatics. They even go as far as making grilled cheeses like their " Mom’s Meatloaf Dinner" sandwich which consists of homemade tender meatloaf, chipotle ketchup glaze, garlic mashed redskin potatoes, fried onion straws, muenster cheese. But, if youre more of a plain eater you can always order a regular grilled cheese.

Melt Bar and Grilled also updates their menu a lot keeping and changing a lot of sandwiches so theirs always something new to try! They also have a sandwich of the month. This months sandwich is the " Prime Time Beef Au Jus Melt". This challange of a sandwich is made of tender slow roasted beef, cheesy roasted garlic mashed red skin potatoes, zippy horseradish sauce, horseradish and chive white cheddar and a deliciously rich au jus for dipping. Vegetarian and vegan version available with seitan.
Melt I found was a very enjoyable experience leaving you happy and full! It had a great atmosphere and the service was very friendly. The only complaint was the wait, because its very popular now many people go all at once causing a very long wait. But definitely worth it i reccomend going!

The Cabin Club

The Cabin Club
(The Cabin Club- Located in Westlake Ohio)
Since I was turning 18 my parents thought it would be nice to out to eat at a nice restaurant. My dad, being the big steak man he is, suggested we go to "The Cabin Club". He goes a lot and raves about it so needless to say I was excited!
Pulling up to the restaurant it literally looked like the name sounded, it looked like an actual log cabin! For some reason this made me a bit unsure of how well I was going to like the restaurant but my dad humored me.

When I first opened the door my opinion immediately changed. Right there at the door was a host and I can honestly say he was a genuinely nice man, he thanked us over and over again for choosing the cabin club as our restaurant of choice. He would come back to the table periodically throughout the meal but was in no was a bother. The interior was lit dimly. They some how figured out how to take a cabin hunting kind of feel and make it very elegant. I applaud them on that I was truly impressed.

As for my meal I ordered the Salmon which came with broccoli, my choice of soup or salad, and rice pilaf.  The salmon was probably the best cooked fish I have ever had. It was crispy on the outside but silky on the inside. For desert I ordered their chocolate moose which was just as impressive as the salmon. The portion was large and it was very light so i was crazy full afterwards. My parents also ordered a bottle of wine which probably wracked up the price a bit but the bill was high, around $180 ish. I can not deny the fact that it was expensive but it was a fantastic experience and I will definitely be going back soon. I recommend anyone go there!

Las Cazuelas

          Las Cazuelas!

Las Cazuelas is a very popular Mexican food restaurant located in the landings of Avon Lake. Serving many traditional Mexican food dishes that will have you addicted and wanting more! Here is a link to the restaurants home page to get additional info.Having gone for both lunch and dinner I can personally say it is delicious at both times of the day.

If you've never traveled to a place like Texas or any area close to Mexico then you may never have tried authentic Mexican food much less been to an authentic Mexican food restaurant. Las Cazuelas is very close to what a Mexican food restaurant would be like and surprisingly it's in Ohio! In fact 9 of their workers were arrested for being illegal immigrants, its that authentic, none the less the service is very friendly.

The interior of the restaurant is bright and interested, when you go they want you to have the whole experience! Right when you sit down they bring you salsa and chips which is of course wonderful! They have a wide variety of food selections including many vegetarian dishes. They also have lunch and dinner specials. The food was very good and they give you a lot for what you pay. The food really isn't that expensive especially for the portion size, Ive always left with left overs and i always leave extremely full.

I would definitely recommend you go to Las Cazuelas if you are an avid Mexican food eater and seek better Mexican food with the entire experience!

Tommy's!

Tommy's Restaurant
Tommy's is a very well known restaurant to Clevelanders, located in Cleveland heights on Coventry. Coventry itself is a very fun place to shop if you just want to pop in some cute little stores/head shops. They also have the grog shop on Coventry where you can go see some bands and just get the whole night life experience. If you do find yourself strolling down Coventry I suggest you stop in Tommy's to grab a bite to eat!
The décor is very refreshing, unlike many restaurants people are typically used to seeing. You almost get the feeling that you're sitting right there in your own kitchen. Tommy's found a mix between modern day and old fashion and decorated from there! Its really a cute place to have brunch or really get food at any point during the day.
I went for brunch and wasn't to hungry so I ordered the French toast which came with maple bacon. To my surprise their menu was filled with not only so many different options but the food combinations were nothing like I've ever seen! Their menu was actually entertaining to read. I also enjoyed the fact that instead of a side of fries like you would get anywhere else they gave you options like yogurt or sesame sauce.
I couldn't pass up the opportunity to order one of tommys famous shakes! A nice change from the typical chocolate and vanilla, I finally decided to go with moose tracks and I was not disappointed. The milkshake was really very good and not only that but the portion size was more then any person would ever need! I was impressed with the different types of milkshakes you could order, from peach to black raspberry chip to peppermint stick, they had it all!
I really recommend going to Tommy's if you find yourself in the Cleveland Heights area! Its a very refreshing change and anyone would enjoy it! ( link to Tommy's online menu) http://media.wix.com/ugd/0d85a0_e980e79dd9ecacd4cbf45ed83f2feeab.pdf?dn=DESSERT%2BMENU.pdf

Red Lobster

Red Lobster

This weekend my mom and I went out to lunch at the very delicious Red Lobster. Red Lobster has over 350 restaurants located all over the United States and luckily one of those 350 was right near my town.

I have been there several times before and as usual the service is always friendly. We were seated right by the bar which wasn't to loud. Immediately they brought us a basket of their famous cheese garlic rolls. The servers will bring you a big basket and they are by far the most addicting/ amazing rolls you will ever put in your mouth. They will continue to bring you rolls till you leave then they send some home with you. ( see picture on the right for rolls.)

I branched away from my usual Salmon and ordered the Tilapia which came with a salad and two sides. They have options of sides from baked potatoes to green beans to rice pilaf. You don't only have to order one item though if you are unsure about what you want to get you can always order a " You Choose Two" kind of dinner which just includes a list of entrees and you can pick two for a set price. They also have a " You Pick Three" for different kinds of shrimp if you're a shrimp lover. If you're going for the whole 9 yards they have a deal where you can pick an appetizer  a salad, an entree and a desert for under 20 dollars. Basically, Red Lobster has some deals.

Red Lobster is a great family/ date restaurant. It is decorated authentically as if you're on a boat but they added more of a classy twist. I will definitely be returning back to Red Lobster and i recommend you all do to.

Café Melissa

Every Sunday my mom and I go out to get brunch! Trying to branch away from the typical Ihop and Perkins we decided to try something new and check out the new restaurant Café Melissa in Avon lake right off of walker. It was a very cute cafe and certainly could be something that would attract people to the deserted tops parking lot.
The service was extremely friendly! The interior was decorated with light colors and felt very homey! It definitely felt like a brunch kind of café as you can see in the picture. I ordered French toast with a side of bacon. A creative twist to the breakfast was instead of hash browns like the usual breakfast would come with, my meal came with cooked potatoes with a sauce on it! It was very good my entire meal was thoroughly pleasing. I've only been for brunch but they do also serve lunch dinner and have a variety of pastries to choose from. I've only heard positive things about the food. Café Melissa only uses the freshest ingredients they can find, and local, seasonal, and organic ingredients if at all possible.

The restaurant is owned by Matt Ullom, owner of the award winning Sweet Melissa in Rocky River. Both of his restaurants are named after his wife Melissa. They met while working in the same deli which they eventually turned into Sweet Melissa. The whole background of the uprising of his restaurants really makes you feel like he cares about this restaurant. Definitely check it out, the food is great!

Salad Kraze

I found myself craving a nice crunchy salad last night! The only place I could think of that specialized in salads was Avon Lakes very own Salad Kraze located right off of Avon Beldon Rd.
http://www.saladkraze.com/skjr1/ ( Salad Kraze website)
The initial feel of the eatery was very nonchalant and casual! Its a smaller place with a couple of tables inside, not a lot of room to sit but that was the best part about it. The restaurant seemed to be more of a delivery/ pick up service not a dine in restaurant. It was a much better choice for fast food then going to Burger King or having some pizza delivered.
Not only could you have the option of eating in, picking up or having it delivered but you could make your own salad. On the side wall you had the option of a small or large size portion. I chose a small which was still a large portion for a small. Next you chose what type of lettuce or noodles you wanted, then you chose your toppings. The small salad came with three! They had a pretty wide variety of toppings to choose from beginning with meat and ending with berries! Next you chose your dressing which also was quite the list! I really appreciated their options.
Having such a large list of toppings to choose from made it very hard to decide. Finally, I created a salad with romaine lettuce, avocado, salmon, feta cheese with balsamic vinegar and let me just say it was very good! Much better then a hamburger and fries at some fast food place! It wasn't that much more expensive either, my whole salad came out to a little under $7.
They don't just have salads but their menu also includes salads, soups, raps, smoothies and many other healthy alternatives! I would recommend this restaurant for people of any age!
